Why Does It Have Scientists And Media Buzzing?
Yacon is considered by many to be the next big thing in promoting healthy weight loss. It's a South American root which has been part of the Andean diet for hundreds of years.

Not only does Yacon have the potential help with a weight loss program, it also appears to naturally support good digestion.

A well known doctor and his team asked a number of viewers who were interested in losing weight to give it a try, and they did.

In fact, 60 women volunteered during this endeavor. These women were instructed to consume a single teaspoon of this syrup before eating or along with meals, but not to change anything else in their lives. At the end of the project, 40 women were able to notice a significant difference.

  • 29 women lost weight
  • 2.9 pounds was the average weight loss
  • 14 lost a minimum of 5 pounds
  • Waist sizes were reduced an average of 1.9 inches
  • 27 of these women said they would recommend Yacon Extract to others wishing to lose weight.

Yacon Extract acts as a prebiotic, which helps control flora in the intestine. Flora are a group of microscopic organisms that live in our intestinal systems such as Bifidus and Lactobacillus or as the doctor called them, skinny bacteria. Probiotics help enhance and increase the efficiency of digestion which lead to weight loss. This prebiotic fuel from the Yacon root extract is the game changing element a well known doctor mentioned.

Yacon's FOS helps feed beneficial bacteria in the colon such as Bifidus and Lactobacillus. FOS has also been shown to modulate the production of certain gastrointestinal peptides that participate in gastric emptying rates and food intake. Yacon, therefore, may also help control appetite and food cravings, helping people eat less.

In a 2009 study published in the journal Clinical Nutrition, a group of overweight or obese women were observed over a period of four months in a double-blind placebo-controlled experiment. At the end of the study, the women lost an average of 33 lbs. in four months - losing about 2 lbs. per week.
